Procedures of getting married in Turkey for foreigners
I explain the procedures of getting married in Turkey for foreigners. You can discover which documents are required for marriage and the applications steps for getting married. Section 1: Who can get married in Turkey
- Anyone with a still valid visa can get married in Turkey
- It can be 2 foreigners OR 1 foreigner and 1 Turkish citizen
Section 2: Required documents to get married
- Certificate of Celibacy: the document that shows that you are single and eligible for marriage. You can get it from the consulate of your country in Turkey.
- 6 photos
- Health report: it can be taken from public or private hospitals in Turkey.
- Notarized and translated version of passport copy
- The foreigner shouldn’t be in overstay status.
- If both partners are foreigners and if they don’t have residence card, then the government asks for a document that shows your address in Turkey. It can be a rent contract.

- Contact any marriage register office (evlendirme dairesi) and take an appointment
- You need to bring two witnesses at the marriage date with you
